St Lawrence-Fall Bass

Had the afternoon off on Monday. Fished for a few hours with a fellow fisherman and caught our limit. Crabs in 20-30 fow. Most of the fish were caught between 530 and 630pm. Lots of fun.

Nice catch, I like using crabs this time of the year. My personal best smallie came on a crab!! Got to love the fight that a smallie puts up, wat to go!!!!

Nice catch.  I agree with Tomb.  That's a big fish.  What happened to the tail on the one in the middle?

Thank you, gents. Bass at bottom was 4#11oz. The middle bass was cut to bleed it out. Improves quality of the meat. Major arteries can be cut at the gills and tail to expedite this process. Tight lines!

Good catch of some fun fighting and good eating bass! And within a couple of hours too. Looks like the one that was cut is a largemouth. Now, here is my nerdiness..... Is the reason that was the only one cut to bleed is because it was a largemouth (looks like the small one he is jaw-to-jaw with is a largemouth too)? And here is the nerdy part.....Do you think largemouths do not taste as good as smallies?..... ...Or is it that you just hadn't gotten to "doing them up" when it was decided to take the pic, and I'm thinking way too much into it.....?
