I was checking out the prices today for shark weights, the Black shark weights that were $35 went up to $60. Man, everything is going up.

Being in manufacturing, that doesn't surprise me. Try quoting a job and be told that material costs are only good for 3 days. :x Then have your customer submit a P.O. 3 weeks later only to find that the costs are up substancially. I saw an instance just 2 weeks ago where an order duplicated in less then a month. The very cost of the same material went up almost 40%. Can be and is frustrating at times. But at least its a job-

It can be a tough bit at times, our Torpedo trolling weights were sold for 14.99 retail 5 years ago, now our cost is twice that, retail ranges from $40 to $50 ea. a 300% increase.

Our stainless trolling wire cost has jumped 25% in the last 4 months.

We purchase copper 800 lbs. per purchase for best shipping and cost advantages, if the price jumps 50 cents thats a 400 dollar bill between purchases, and it has made this 50 cent jump 4 times in a little over 2 years.

Not a lot of control when running a small business, usually what happens is the manufacturer will pass a percentage of the increases on and eat the rest to maintain active sales. In most cases at this point we need to put out more money, then hope to sell more product or eventually just make less !!

Yeah it is tough now. They just shut down our whole site here where I work in Rochester. Be fun looking for a new job.
