I am use to catching huge smallies and trout/salmon on Lake Michigan where I am orginally from in Wisconsin.....moved to Philadelphia area a year or so ago and this year I have been spending a lot of time in Upstate New York fishing for bass. It is well worth the 4-5 hour drive for me!  Have spend the last 5 weekends up there, reminds me of home!  Just looking to share stories and areas and looking for tips.  I mainly fish off shore on Ontario for smallmouth, Oneida, St Lawrence River, but also love to catch largies shallow as well.  Recently I have gotten into salmon fishing.  Went up last weekend on the Osewgo River and plan on coming up again this weekend to salmon fish....only problem is the crowds in the river never seen anything like that back home!

The crowds there are going to just get worse. Right now they are in for the salmon and then after that run they stick around for the steelhead til Dec-Jan I would say. Your best bet word be to get a good map from Fat Nancy's of the river and find a way up the river to get away and have some fun in the holes that don't get much pressure. Also keep in mind the further you go your gonna have to watch over shoulder for the coyotes that seem to migrate toward the river this time of year cause of the food (fish). Stay safe and good luck
