Black River

Any salmon in the black? All the reports sound slim this year heading back up north monday just wondering if worth trying for salmon or just hit the lake for pike and smallmouth . Any info appreciated

Caught a few nice ones a couple weeks ago but haven't tried since... Heard they were in pretty thick at the mouth last weekend.

We got em trolling K14 size Flatfish 40-50' back in various colors and Silver Jplugs with a red head on riggers down 3-4' back 30-35'.

So ya got them at the mouth or in river ? Don't know of 35 ft in river

Just got back from the black river. Didn't catch one fish. Threw everything I had, including brown trout skein. Lots of fish jumping up by the bridge. Some just a couple of feet from the boat, but no takers. Even the drift boats were not catching them Seen 3 fish caught in 2 1/2 days of fishing. One from a guy in a kyack and 2 from drift boats.

That sucks! My buddy picked up 6 on Saturday. As hard as it can be, getting away from areas that are being pounded all day helps. The mouth was stacked I guess.
