Well, the 2014 pheasant hunting season is well under way, and I am at 9 birds as of yesterday.  I hope you like some of these pics of my bird hunting experience so far this year.  I could have a few more birds under my belt, but I hunt without a dog, so I think I am doing okay so far.  Thanks.

Wow, that's some beautiful country out there. I also saw some good walleye fishing shows from your neck of the woods. Congrats on your hunt and thanks for sharing the photos of the countryside out there!! PAP.

Are you ditch hunting?

That's what I usually do, but I have been hitting a really nice public Game Production area, that has food plots and small shelter belts with high switch grass.  The birds have been holding and flushing really well for me.  Ditches will definitely be the way to go when they get all of the crops out.

Thanks Pap, and you should make a trip out here some time.  The walleye fishing and pheasant hunting are hard to beat.

John...Lake Oahe, right?  Anywhere near Gettysburg?  I've been there a couple times hunting on my shirttail relatives property.  Pheasant city!!

Yeah, straight west of Gettysburg, about 15 miles.  Birds are pretty thick again this year!  :)

Good thing my licensed wife was driving me around today, as I just could not resist taking the double at the end of this ditch, when I already had two in my vest.  The one person limit is 3 per day.  Nice bunch of roosters today!! :)
