Trying to find willow blade silver-5 to 5-1/8 long and 2-1/4 wide to paint up and make my own cow bells for lakers. Have some number 8s lure jensens but can't find that part. blade. Same kind northern king used to make there bells with. Thanks for any info.

Folks have often got rid of the old Luhr Jensen cow bells ("flashers" to us old school dinosaurs) through yard or garage sales or on LOU because they have gone to lighter types with less drag (such as the Hammerheads). Why not ask on here if someone wants to part with some they don't want anymore? What I have done over the years is to dissemble old sets and re-do them with new beads, swivels, clevises, and wire ( old downrigger wire or old 7 strand wire from  Seth Green rigs mine were 60 lb) works well). I've also added reflective tape to them as well to spruce them up where the blades were crapped up. Metal or silver polish can work wonders on bringing back the luster on blades that aren't too far gone too.

What is lighter on the hammerheads? Less blades though i think . The luhr jensens have about 6 - 7 blades if i remember right vs 3-4 for the hammerheads.

Try lurepartsonline they have willows up to 5 1/2"s long in the little box type in blades, I got some stuff from this place and was happy, they have everything!!

The blades on the Hammerheads are made of much lighter material than the steel blades of the traditional Luhr Jensen type willow leaf blades which equates with less drag in the water. Rather than shiny metal they use a reflective coating
