Pierless did not hit them well this past weekend.

Had some boat issues to tend to both mornings, but got out there by 8:30 on Saturday.

Saturday we went east and didn't catch anything until I turned 'round just past Port Bay in about 30fow/~46 deg. Caught one small steelie, about 2lbs on a black Rapala off the boards.

Sunday we got out by 1pm. Trolled west all the way to Pultneyville. Got skunked. Water was fairly decent color, but cold. Temps as low as 40 deg. in 6fow. Usually they were ~42. Warmest water I saw along the shoreline on Sunday was 46. Would have gone offshore, but the temp dropped off even more. Besides, my girlfriend was happy staying in-shore out of the wind. A happy crew counts for something, yes?

Lets hope things develop better than they have been the past two weekends. It'll be a long, slow, Derby otherwise.

I hope this post serves to let other unlucky anglers fell less alone,...

Pierless
