And if your not careful they will carry off the fish you are fighting! Had 1 come within 6 inches of taking this 9lb eye....I nodded the rod and the fish went down in the nick of time!

Nice walleye. A tug of war with an eagle would be entertaining. You would probly get broke off with walleye gear but i bet i could get it in with 80lb braid. And then it would kick my butt.

It was on 50lb braid with 25lb leader so I imagine I coulda leaned on it pretty hard!   Several people have said I shoulda let the eagle have it, but I take landing walleyes very seriously!!  :)

Lol!😜the eagles can eat the bass and twouts. Walleyes are "what's for dinner" and muskies go back to grow some more.

The eagles get plenty of 12-14" brown trout stockies, and the herons take way more tiger fingerlings than you can imagine.  I'm gonna ask a private landowner in a key spot if I can place my coyote decoy where 2 particular herons decimate tigers.  I spend half of the dark hours during the time that this happens fishing and I try to keep them run off, but last year they were even bolder.  Its a short period of time when stocked fish are very vulnerable near the surface where avian predators clean up.

Now that I don't have a wife to yell at me for fishing, I'll be there for sure!! Justin, how've you been buddy?

Just read the stock report from ian. One cooperator caught 206 walleye in 2014!!! That's straight up putting in time....

206 is easy...fish 4 days a week for 6 months....the hard part is finding a woman who will let you!! Tracy is what makes it possible!!

I'm gonna try to get over there one night a week... and hoping I've picked up enough knowledge to put a dozen otisco eyes in the freezer this year! I only been fishing there a dozen times over the past 2 years... but I feel confident in the knowledge that I picked up from Otiscos finest!!

Learn the section right above the marina...right near where I snagged up a rigger ball...you can limit there almost every night once you figure it out. Lots of guys fishing there, but I know of 2 guys that do well in that area. Its a bit deeper there and hj's will beat out floaters. Its all about putting your time in and paying your dues! If all else fails I know a guy who can put you on fish! :).

BTW, I certainly didn't catch anywhere near 206 eyes...that includes everyone on my boat. No way to get numbers without guests aboard.

That rigger ball... what a nightmare that was. Didn't mean to change up the topics but reading Ians report got me pumped for spring..... I talked to my step kid this afternoon, sounds like I may have a team for the get together.

I found out there is an old boat lift down there. Talk about an instant nightmare, but we didn't lose any gear and I didn't get too excited.

I'd love to do this again but the weekend of July 18-19 is the only one I definitely can't make.  Hope to be up there a bit this year so no biggie but it was a great time last year!
