Fished on Saturday with 7 good inches of ice. 25 smelt and 4 lakers. Smallest laker was 25 inches. Biggest was 34 inches. Two of the lakers were on the smelt rigs on ultra lights and two were on white tube jigs tipped with smelt.

I had three pages of double sided notes to myself of things to try last year and when I got out there went cold turkey because of changing conditions

Looks like Jared is off to a great start on the ice fishing season....so hurry up ice! (around here)

allaboutfishing.....Nice....lakers through the ice.....20 mins from Newport...? I'll put my money on Piseco Lake.

That's 50 minutes. If I got four that size out of piseco, I would piss my pants.

I don't think I'm the only one ready for trolling already though. Didn't get my full fix in the summer.

Not a bad weekend over all. 6/11 on lakers and 63 smelt total over two separate days of fishing. Biggest laker was 31" and smallest was 20". Smelt were above average for size and numbers were impressive. Also lost an atlantic or a rainbow. Be at it again this weekend. Good luck all!
