Could you swim 9 miles?

This guy survived one of my worst fears, especially when fishing solo!

I would be dead long before the 9 mile swim. I fish solo most times out and always teather from the emergency stop on the motor to the back of my auto inflate PFD. No exceptions- ever. In the hot weather I switch out to a belt pack PFD, but still hook up the teather. With the auto pilot on, the boat would just stay on course and leave me to the fishes..

Incredible as the swim was, add the fact that at nine miles out he was in the gulf stream. So he had to fight that current also. On a positive note the Coastguard did recover the boat.

I can swim it, but not run it. The fat would keep me warm and afloat.
