any ice on Keuka and if so how much wanting to hit it for lakers once there is safe ice

If keuka does,t freeze on tuesday night then we will not be ice fishing keuka this year. If its not froze by the second week of January ,then its not going to freeze.

Got to disagree with that one! We fished Penn Yan out of a boat the first week of January a few years ago when it was 60+ degrees out and we were ice fishing off the Bluff in February. So it can happen...but not likely, for sure.

 

It takes some doing these days to freeze her solid. Used to happen quite a bit years ago; I knew a guy who made a living selling ice boats. He'd go broke now.

Iceshanty has a report of ice down to the Bluff.

yeah just saw that too they are checking ice thickness in some areas of Keuka today hopefully the bluff area is freezing up nice and thick so it survives sunday after that it looks really promising with the weather we are supposed to have the next week or so

Sorry to report, just traveled to penn yan today from h'port...unsafe ice is setting up about half way to the bluff...there was a lone fisherman fishing just off the park in penn yan...dangerous to go out by yourself!!!
