Looking to put on a 31 ft vessel

Seems terribly big for a 31' boat. I see guys pushing around 36-38' boats with 15hp.

15 or 20 is plenty of motor for trolling that rig.

Do yourself a favor and go no less than a High thrust 25. I put one on last year, have a 29'aquasport express, this motor does an incredible job. I was trolling into 5-6' seas with no problems. I also run a Controllking throttle control on it. Let me know if there is any other questions. Good Luck

Hey Rich how is the 25 on fuel?

I can troll all day burns 3-5 gallons depending on wave conditions, and that is on the high side. It is plumbed into one of Main tanks, Deff a lot less than running one of the mains.

I have one

For sale is a 15hp Evenrude 4 stroke kicker motor. Electric start. Long shaft, 8 amp charging, 99.7 hrs on motor mostly trolling, all cables, shifter, remote key start, digital tach/hr meter, hoses and primer bulb. Also has servo mounted for Troll Master. Oil has been drained, filter changed ready for storage.

$2000 for all of it, local pick up or we can make some sort of arrangements after sale

   After searching for a 4stroke 15HP with no luck, I bought a 25HP Mercury Bigfoot as a kicker on my 252 Sportcraft.

I have been very pleased. Fuel efficient, quiet, and plenty fo power to troll in any conditions I want to fish in.  I don't

know how a 15HP would have worked, but, the 25HP is everything I hoped for, and more.
