I would hope so - based on the date it wasn't walleye season yet.

i would have anyhow since we were fishing browns . fish eyes all winter on the st lawrence and champlain with a limit of 3 so one eye from ontario wasnt going to make a difference in my freezer. i release lots of fish all year long and im very selective on ones to eat.
