Dualing Outboards

[Big Water]

Just saw the strangest thing on WFN.  Guy had two 300 hp outboards on his center console and was maneuvering them and they were turning opposite directions.  The port outboard was turning toward the port and the starboard toward the starboard,  What is this about?????  How are they steering independently?

Saw something like that on a saltwater fishing show. I wanna say it helps with docking in tight spaces or something. Allows the boat to move sideways. But that could be completely wrong.

Yamaha has what they call Helm Master. You can actually walk the boat sideways and "park" between two boats at a dock. you operate with your steering wheel like normal. when you want to use the system you hit a switch and then use a joystick for control. Only to be used at slow speeds for maneuverability. I saw this in action on the Ship Shape TV show.
