Just finished putting this mount on the boat and can not get it to lower the motor (9. 9Merc 4 stroke). Directions say back off the two lock wheels, pull back and push down to lower. Pulls back but won't lower? Talked to Garelick and they said there was a lock. I sure don't see one? Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

That stainless bar on the side is a lock. One end (toward the transom) just lifts over a nut on the side and keeps the mount from lowering. Swing the locking arm out of the way while using the kicker and then lock the kicker up while trailering.

I would also strap the kicker in the up position if you intend to trailer the boat with the kicker mounted.

Is the engine mounted on the bracket? If so you will still need to put some downword pressure on the unit to lower the bracket.

Be carefull and keep everyones (& your) fingers away from the bracket cause it will take them off as if they were play-dough  ;(;( .

So when you mount it on marine board to space it out past the scuppers the edges where bolts are tighten down nice. The center remains slightly bowed out from the marine adhesive causing bracket to hit board preventing downward movement. Going out to run a sawsall blade between and hopefully trim the marine board just enough.....

Once again.... pilot error, good equipment!

Well trimming the marine board got us 1/4 down. Repairing the bent, from factoy?, bracket and all is perfect.
