PUTTING THIS QUESTION TO ALL FINGER LAKES FISHERMEN LOOKING TO PURCHASE A NEW NET FOR THE THE BOAT WHICH BRAND DO YOU LIKE & WHY & HOW LONG OF A HANDLE DO YOU USE

Posted

Get one with an extendable handle that goes out to 5-6'. It will collapse for easy storage but you won't have to reach for fish. I've lost some nice fish due to a short net, and on wavy days one could easily go overboard reaching for a fish with a short net.

Second what jason said. Ranger 6 footer extends to eight.

I have 3 rangers, 1 for trout, and 2 musky sized nets. The big musky nets are my favorite, but many fingerlakes sized trout, and oneida walleyes go thru the netting. Just make sure you get a rubber coated one both for the fish and your sanity if you use trebles! Dicks carries them decently priced.
