I agree but from past experience it doesn't really matter.  All surveys have in the first paragraph "it is in the opinion of".  I bought a boat out of Florida that I entrusted an accredited surveyor to do his job.  Even told him specific things to look at.  Boat showed up as a bunch of termites holding hands...  There is zero recourse.  Even had my lawyer look into it.  It all comes back to that first line in the survey.  Sure I should have spent the 500.00 in a plane ticket to personally look at the boat but I still hired the surveyor to serve a purpose and it turned out bad.  Accredited or not it still comes down to the person...

I did the exact same thing and got screwed! My 5 year old son could have found the problems the boat had!

And let's just say my boat would be on the bottom if my dad didn't catch the cracked seacock that the surveyer never saw. Lol
