So when you guys store you boats in the water at what temp is it okay to leave it in? I have an outboard engine and am wondering once the day time highs are all in the positive and the odd night time low is in the negative is it okay to leave you boat in? Also is there anything you need to protect your engine if you are leaving it moored in early spring, putting it in and out is not a option so I am wondering how long will I be waiting before I can put her in for the season.

You can put her in as soon as the pond melts. I have had outboards in the water all winter going back and forth to the clam flats. when you start it just make sure your pumping water is all

You're actually safer with the boat in the water than on the trailer once it's been unwinterized. The warmer lake/marina water will insulate to a degree and help keep the block from freezing, that's not the case sitting on the trailer.
