Thanks. I've got so much work to do. I wish I could have worked on it today. Passed rollie on his way home. Also, 10 more days and we're going in!

I got the old skunk today. Tried coppers, leadcore and riggers parked a anywhere from 50'-110'. Changed colors out in the spoons every half hour or so. I was trying out a bunch of new gear so I didn't feel like playing with the dipsey and flashers.

I put a brand new Lowrance hdi transducer on over the winter. Worked just ok, then just afternoon it failed and wouldn't show anything. It would just read random, incorrect depths. We never picked up bottom until we were in the canal mouth in less than 20 feet. Between that and the kicker steering connector rod crapping out, it was a fun day.

One thing from yesterday, the main lake is 36 degrees, the canal was close to 41. The sides of the canal had 20 people or so casting. It won't be long before the fish are in there, if they aren't already!

Tried an afternoon troll today. Lake was chocolate on the south end from the queen. Temps were 35.5 in main lake and a bit warmer in the canal. The area around the salt plant was pretty void of bait just a small bunch just a bit to the North. Made my way North along west shore nothing. Worked out deep most of the bottom in 300+ fow was covered with bait. Ended by heading back south after the wind picked up out of the North, it pushed the cloudy water in shallow and there were a few fish on the bottom in 170-150 but no takers. So I will call it what it was a SKUNK. nice getting out though.

Fished out is Sampson after the dismal south end reports. Couldn't troll the skinny water as there were a lot of boats along the wall. Went 11 for 15 on lakers. 175' was the ticket. Down temp was 34.8 and surface was 34. My son was worn out. LOL

I counted 47 boats that launched there yesterday morning and they were lined up about 50 ft from each other from the beach at the north end to well past the south end of the breakwall....pretty ridiculous and most didn't catch a damned thing

Hundreds of thousands of good perch spots on that big lake and they play "monkey see monkey do" and then wonder why they don't catch anything...and spoil the shore fishermen's day in the process (who don't have the ability to go to the other spots) pretty lame to me. One of them even started his motor out of the water and let it run for about a minute before launching.....good luck with that!

Kinda funny last time I went out on Seneca for perch I tried four different spots with two other boats in tow, with them following me, I thought, these guys think I know what I'm doing, ha fooled them... I didn't catch any and I doubt they did..
