Went casting today at Cayuga. Water was very clear other than a few creek inlets. Casted for about six hours and only had three follows. All three follows were on a Silver Shiner Blue Fox. All three fish looked like lakers(~24"). Not much else going on. Saw some gobies moving around. Tried all different kinds of spoons (moonshines, little cleos, kastmaster) and different Stickbaits(rapalas, challengers, Smithwicks). Even tried some shiners on the bottom. Nothing interested. I think the sun and super clear water didn't help, even with the wind. Hope to make the drive down again later in the spring to try my luck again. Was my first trip to Cayuga to fish today so not sure on where to exactly put my time in. Just felt good to get off the ice for once and break out the long rods. At least it was nice out!
