I am going to install 4-24" sections of cisco track. They will be covering holes from rod holders that were installed previously. I do not want water to be able to get into them. Looking for suggestions. Seal with silicone? I have  material I could use to make a gasket. The boat is a 20' Lund fisherman. I have learned a ton on this site, picked up a few bargains :)  but have not seen this subject covered. Thanks in advance.

Silicone will work. I prefer 3m 5200. It works great and will last a lifetime. If you ever plan on removing them go with silicone as the 3m is more a permanent solution

I third the 5200! I use it on everything. Be sure area is clean and dry and don't waste it. It's expensive. If you know where the tracks going, and you predrilled, tape off the edges and that 5200 will have a nice clean cut.

Have fun rigging the new boat

and use through bolts with oversized washers instead of just screws

Thanks guys. 5200 it is. I have used it in the past for transducer installs, just didn't think of it. They will be permanent with backing plates.
