We set back up in the trench early with all 5 Lines in the water by 5:50am. Took a quick shot on the starboard mag dipsey at 6am out 225' on a 3 setting, gator spinny and green atomik fly. Lost it after about 20 seconds of unstoppable screaming drag. Ok now we're awake!!!

Around 7am we had the starboard rigger pop pulling a white mountain dew crush 11" paddle pulling a mirage fly. No one home. Hate that.

At 7:45am the 450 copper starts absolutely screaming pulling the same meat locker 8" flasher and blue/yellow atomik fly as yesterday. After a long battle my dad finally hauls it in and immediately takes a seat and says "grab me a beer!" Haha he's not a fan of the long coppers... but boy do they work!

Encouraged at this point, we decided to make another pass so we reset lines and stayed on our way points. Not long after setting back up the same starboard dipsey as earlier was smoking. It ran 200+ feet on the initial run and gave me time to start clearing the spread for this brute. Got the copper in, both rigger rods in and balls up, and finally the other dipsey as my arm was cramping from reeling so hard. We have this tank inside 100' of line out and all the sudden it's gone. A few obscenities yelled and upon closer inspection, it ate right through an atomik fly leader. Brutal way to end the day but action is getting better.

1 for 4. Not a great percentage but putting dad on fish is priceless. In by 10am.

Lake was flat as Jenny Collins in 9th grade today so we headed out around the lighthouse to fish out front of stony creek in 110-130fow.

My college buddy flew in last night to get in on some of the action - he's never done this type of fishing before so has been looking forward to it for some time.

Ended up working pretty hard for his first king but got one nonetheless. Picked up two pesky lakers also. Beautiful Weather today.

Headed in to battle early again and like days past, the 450 copper proved to be deadly.

The copper took a shot and a few feet of line flew off... everyone jumped up and watched the rod and no sooner then I said "he can come back and grab it"... it did and line started smoking off the reel. My dad grabbed the setup and was wrestling another monster on the copper for the next 25 minutes. It almost spooled us twice. Great fight as we landed our first major king of the day.

Redeployed the copper after lots of high fives and celebrating. 15 minutes later it again starting screaming behind the boat. My dad looked at my buddy like "I'm not doing that again" and my buddy quickly jumped on the rod. It felt like another major on the line and when it got closer it actually jumped out of the water and allowed us to confirm the size. Another nicely executed battle and we quickly realize it's bigger then the last one.

Pretty sure your buddy's fish is a Coho, not a King

Was a fresh silvery 2 year old King I believe. Not a stager which are much darker right now. Black mouth/gums and dots throughout the tail on bottom side too. Tail Doesn't quite have the full fan though you're right... weird.

In Oregon on business/pleasure. My Uncle lives here so met up with him to do something I'm quite familiar with from back home... King Salmon fishing as they run up the river from the pacific!

Got one early on a spinner.

That is AWESOME Fleet, I watched a lot shows on the fishing channel, but never saw them that close up. You are definitely blessed to have a brother that shares the same passion for fishing. Congrats on your trip that would be a chance of a lifetime for others. How did those saltwater Kings and coho's differ from LakeO fish in taste. Safe trip back. Nice pics. also. PAP

Excellent day for drag-screaming Brown Trout in the creeks with my Dad and brother, Koltin. Great to enjoy outings like this with Family.
