Wire/dipsy question

On wire(trident 7 30#) rig for use with divers is it ok to use a swivel to attach the diver? If so do you tie it or use a crimp?

I have always used a swivel and have never crimped.

I use this knot to attach the swivel.

A reel easy knot is to loop the wire and tie an overhand knot, put the loop thru the eye of the swivel and half hitch it. Simple but works fine. Pull tight with pliers on the swivel and the wire wrapped several times around your arm (with long sleeve shirt).
