3.0 volvo penta stalls at idle

I'm in williamson ny having trouble with my islander stalling at idle which makes docking a chore .. anyone local that can help no one seems to work on volvo ... I suspect carb needs to be cleaned or rebuilt thanks, chris

What is your rpm at idle not in gear? What is it in gear?

Bounces between 900 and 1100 not in gear ... didn't notice in gear

Make sure that is warm idle rpm (choke not engaged), but I would bump it just a bit so it would be around 1200 at highest idle.

It's hard for me to find time to mess with it wife works nights and weekends plus 2 small children ...

And called pugselys they won't touch it since it's not a merc

Can also try mikes mobile mechanic they may be able to help. A buddy has the same motor and was running really rough and would stall every now and then. Turned out to be his distributor cap and rotor

Those carbs from what I read are pretty much bullet proof. How old is the gas?

About 10 gallons are old added 20 gallons new gas
