So my buddy sent me this photo and as they were shocking an area they came across a 17lbs. Walleye. Crazy the size of this thing you would not expect a fish this size from the size of this lake. Just insane.

If they get that big in that area I would love to see what one could do in lake O.

Ohio River strain walleyes grow larger than our great lakes strain walleye. The past two largest state walleyes were from the Allegany River Reservoir, Kinzua, on the last days off the season at Onoville launch area.

I would like to see that fish on a scale. I would say 13 maybe 14lbs at most. And that's with the eggs in her.

way more than that for sure. I believe 17 no problem.

A 14lbs. walleye will weigh out 17lbs. with eggs. On average when we are ice fishing we figure 7lbs.-10lbs. add 2 lbs. for eggs 10lbs.+ add 3lbs. for eggs.

 

They did not test the age they wanted to get her back in the water right after the photo opt.
