Heading up to Chaumont for the weekend looking for walleyes. Never fished it before, figure I'll be fishing shallow with planers dragging worm harness and stickbaits. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as I know it's early and the water is still very cold. Thanks, anyone else going there?

I'm headed up Friday. Will be fishing all of chaumont. Last year was amazing for walleye. Boated 20 or so opening weekend. Ranged in size from 5lb to 13lb. Hoping it's like that this year. Due to the late ice and extreme cold this winter I'm thinking it will be similar. Most likely will start at the mouth of three mile bay as it was very productive last spring. Worm harnesses worked well but our best bite was on husky jerks.

Off planer boards. Trolling 1.5 to 1.8. We used the the medium sized one. Not sure what rapala calls the size. It is about 4 inches long.

Thousands of possible worm harnesses. Different blades, colours, hooks etc. I personally like Northland tackle ones or big eye custom tackle. But again, many many many different colours to work with.
