Interested in the 1K derby. Would I have to be present at the awards ceremony to qualify or can the check be mailed in the event that I cannot attend?

Just spoke with Kevin, and he doesn't see a need for you to be there if you'r lucky enough to win a day. It was just something he included so the winners could be part of the whole deal and atmosphere.

Wish I could do it again. Had fun last year running and gunning all over the west end looking for the next big king. Too much work this year so far keeps me out. It's a great easy event! No real pressure and a strategy to win makes it fun!

Does anyone know where to get updates... Last year they weregood about posting on Facebook nightly.... Would be nice to know if 17 lbs are the norm or should hold out a few more....
