I am thinking about hitting that area tomorrow. I am not sure exactly where I am going to go. Mexico point? Stony creek? I am a newbie so hopefully I catch something!! I will let you know.

How is access via stony creek launch? Reports had warned of very low water levels for springtime, so what,s up with that?

I launched from Mexico Point yesterday. I trolled from Mexico Point to the Salmon River. I caught a Atlantic Salmon (I think it was a Atlantic Salmon) on a Rapala Fire tiger stick bait off of planner board.. Very slow day. The morning started off so foggy...

Launched at Stony on Sunday. It was a bit tricky with my 18 foot Skeeter. I would not recommend it unless you know it very well.

No action at all.

I've been out of stony three times this year, and have churned a little mud in spots but getting the channel figured out.  The charters are making it from the end of the river through the worst section with the 26' boats, so definitely possible.  I would say the worst section is the last bend into the bay and then the beginning of the bay towards the first docks, stay fairly close to the right side.

Any updates on Stony launch access?  I am thinking of trying it on Sunday, and hope water levels haven't dropped from last few weeks when the consensus was that it is "do-able, but tricky".  Also, , hoping for browns to be near there, any recent info on water temps around Drowned Island?

I'm also headed up this week so I can update on launch. I usually launch in Henderson and cut through the gut and to the trench but I've never fished this early. Camp is in Sawyers bay it'd be great to get some shallow browns out in front. I don't even keep them we just catch a few for fun.

I know the charters are smoking them but they always are

I was out there for 6 hours.. Didn't catch a brown.. Seems like the brown trout is non existent this year so far... Seems like everyone has switched to lake trout.. Make sure you have a backup plan in case the brown don't cooperate..

Damn I really dont....any walleye around black river?once again it would be a picture and release for me. I'd love to go for bass but still no CnR season up there. Kinda bummed browns must still be in transition?

I will be in the area trying for Browns also.. Hopefully things get better by this weekend. If the Browns don't cooperate I will try using a Dipsy diver for some Lakers

Yeah browns are really non existence at the moment, at best even the charters are only getting 1 or 2, everyone is going for Lakers.

Is that because they're in winter patterns still?or just skipped the whole deal and will end up right out deep? The lake blew crazy last 2 days and it's freezing so that probably didn't help
