spiny water fleas should be minimal at that time. Generally the warmer water creates more dense populations. Usually get more dence late July into August.

60 degrees is the magic number. When you find large expanses of 60 degree water the fleas will start to show up. As it warms they will concentrate in the 60 degree level.

Hopefully the fleas are like last year.  Last year was not nearly as bad as years past.

you could have fooled me fleas so heavy they were sticking to rigger cables and the hooks on my spoons

Lines had to be checked and cleared every 15 minutes.

This was right around the end of July and 1st 2 weeks of August

Last season the fleas were around for a much shorter duration and not nearly as heavy. Most years it starts in June and we deal with it until mid August.

Fleas are usually never bad out of Olcott.  June you should be fine. ( I just jinxed it)
