As good as the St. Croixs are I am looking for something ultra-lite and specific. I had a Diawa noodle rod WAAAAY back and loved it. I like the BC stylle handle that has the reel set way back and gives me more wrist control. I think I am going to have to build it. Oh well the old man is retired he can help

JC, I have used a fly rod as a noodle and the real seat is on the back behind the handle where you can mount any kind of ultralite spinner reel and fine line for finesse. As long as you don't want to put the rod in a gimble holder this works just fine and the fly rod has a double duty. An old shakespear wonder rod is what works for me. PS thanks for the service to our country and good luck out there!

JC,

Not sure where you are hearing bad news about the Steelhead fishing, but the Salmon and Oswego Rivers have been having banner years the past couple of years. Good Luck.
