they have much less drag when triggered you can actually fight the fish    just sand  the edges they can be a bit sharp

Chinook diver got us 9th place in this year's l.o.c. Derby, and big fish of day! l like the way it trolls out seems like less drag on everything.

Use one of these to see the difference, they are so much better to fight a fish or to just reel in. make in Rochester NY.

been using for two years didn't have any problems.

What size do most of you run?  The #4 or the #5 Chinook Divers?  Looking to get some for both Lake Erie and Lake O...

They look like they would dive well, but do you really need 1,200 feet of wire to get to 50 foot depth? See below from the website:

LET OUT 2' OF LINE FOR 1" OF DEPTH:

  • #5 is used for 50-100+ foot depth
  • #4 is used for 45-80 foot depth range
  • #3 & #2 work best in the 25-50 foot depth range
  • #1 is also great for shallow trolling 5-25 foot depth range

Been running since came out love them no drag we added a 6 inch steel leader on front side just in case they would ever get wrapped so wouldn't cut main line

These are smaller in Diameter than the dipsey divers. Do you think they are running as deep as the dipsey with the same amount of line out ?

I used the #5 Chinook diver yesterday for the first time and caught a laker in 120 FOW with 30lb mono out 220. I never used a Dipsey diver before. So I don't know how they compare..
