Any thoughts on this spring? I have been 3 times..terrible where are the birds? I hunt the almond area of Allegany. Have tons of deer pics on my cams nothing with feathers!! Last spring tons of turkey pics. Did this nasty cold and snow take a toll?

The entire region seems to be experiencing what you are. I'm hunting two states and 4 counties and have seen limited success. In 8 days of hunting I've only heard 4 shots and 1 of those was mine.

There is definitely a shortage of gobbling birds. Everyone has their own opinion but I think two hard LONG winters in a row have taken their toll.

At least you didn't complain about the DEC stocked coyotes and fishers killing all the turkeys---I've heard that a lot in the past three weeks. Smh.

I live in north central pa our first week was awsome, but nothing gobbling on roost. Everything has been happening a hour or two after they would usually fly down. Hang in there it will happen and good luck.

Looks like the drop in population was identified by DEC. I can't find tracks or roosting areas like years ago. Plenty of yotes, deer, and oh bears too.
