Can you tell me the going rate for a boat survey.  Can a complete survey be done, with the boat on land. ??  I am most concerned about stringers.  Boat is a single engine. and doesn't seem to have any means to see the stringers , other than near the motor.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanx

When i had a survey done to a boat, it was done first on land and then if it passed they did a sea trial next. most surveyors have the tools and means to look the whole boat over, my guy wld look at the stringers and transom first then if either were bad he wld stop as i did not want to invest in that type of project, price can vary depending on who u chose. call a few and see what they charge per foot.

Hope this helps a little Good luck

$20-25 per foot. They can do it either on land or in the water. If its an i/o then the transom is as important as the engine stringers.

I wish I had known about a survey before I bought my boat, it was before I found this site. Definitely get it done, what I got into a (1982) I could of bought a mid (90's) off this site. A education comes with a hell of a price tag!!
