What is the difference between the SG and Great Lakes series Rreels

Thanks but found this, http://www.questoutdoors.net/gear/articles/daiwalc_comp/ compares them in a nut shell.  SG better built, the GL version is the AD version essentially.  thanks

The AD is a different critter. I sold GL series like hotcakes during the Erie walleye boom in the late 80s. Primary difference between the old GL and current AD is gear ratio (GL has a higher ratio thus faster line retreival). Also GL uses a few more bearings v bushings. It is a distinct design, one that is still sought after if ghe drags are redone.
