Owasco Lake status

Taking the day off Friday and was thinking of heading to Owasco and launch at South Shore Marina. Anybody know if the boat launch is flooded and if there is a lot of debris on the lake.

The New York State Canal Corporation is seeking your cooperation in reducing the rate of release from Owasco Lake to help minimize the elevated water levels on the downstream Erie Canal/Seneca River under the understanding the Owasco Lake level continue to be within desirable ranges.

Presently, the water levels in the Seneca River downstream of Cayuga Lake and along Cayuga Lake are well above flood stage, and continuing to rise as a function of the recent heavy rains.  Any possible reduction in the release of flow from Owasco Lake would assist us in minimizing these flood impacts.

Was on the lake today. No debris. Lake is in decent shape. Didnt use the south shore ramp but lake level is fine. Even caught a few fish. Mark

High water with some floating debris. South end is good to go.
