marine battery chargers?

what size amp do you guys use for your marine battery chargers? i am using a 10 amp and it takes foooooooorever..................... like three days to get a full charge. am i way under powered or is that the norm?

sounds like your battery might be taking a crap... 10amp is plenty

I agree, I have a 10A 2 bank (5A per side) onboard charger on my boat and even with the batteries in serious discharge, it never takes longer than an overnight to get em back to full.

well then I think if it were me, I'd start looking for an open circuit, cause you've got a major power drain going on somewhere.

Check your connections from your charger to the battery. I know I had a charger once that I had to move the alligator clip around to make a good conection.

But over night should be all you need to be charged.

you are right. the connections sucked! all i had to do is position it a little better and the needle went right over to charged. luckily i have an auto one and i didn't over charge it.
