Went  to the Oak sun morn first light . Full moon so I figured it to be slow early and it was. Not a hit till about 7 , then things picked up somewhat. Got  5 smallies , biggest about 18" . Also got 2 sheepheads, one about the size of a sheet pizza. Shaky & Dropshot senkos were the ticket.

I think we may have spoke briefly on Sunday morning.  I was on the pier.

It was a slow morning.  Tried about everything I brought for awhile.  I picked up one smallie and lost another.  Was rather surprised that I couldn't get a sheep interested.  It seems like things have been slower than last year at the mouth all season so far.  At least its been that way for me so far.

Were you on the end on the west side ?

East side.  On the end for awhile then moved down about 20' on the lake side.

Where on the Oak were you fishing? Upstream or down around the mouth?

Joel,

I'm thinking about going up and Salmon fishing next week.  I'm just looking for a "Plan B" in case the weather turns and I get blown off the lake.

Good luck Wes. I will take the Hobie up around Olcott for salmon in the fall. Don't forget the Fort Niagara area if you need a plan C. I heard the smallmouth are stacked in there now plus it's on your way home.
