Hello all, New to fishing lake Ontario. I hear folks complain about the wind a lot and direction. Can anyone give me an idea as to wind direction and whens good to be out on the lake. I realize high winds are not good, but im curious about direction and how it effects the water and waves pertaining to ontario.

Thanks

Ive had some incredible chews in west winds and a 2-3 ft chop.

East winds suck. They tend to move the cold water around (usually into shore) and really screw up any kind of themocline that's set up. West winds tend to push the colder water deeper. After an East Blow, I usually head for offshore where the more stable water is.

Curents and Temperature movements are a big part of choosing where to start.

X2 on east winds suck.....I've never done well with an east wind no matter where I have fished (for whatever reason)
