Starting after high surface temperatures are reached, Lake Erie makes its own weather off shore. The high waves off shore this weekend are an example of this phenomenon. Always look off shore to see if saw toothed waves are out there, near shore conditions change after a mile off shore. Then make your decision and check the weather buoy off Port Colborne for off shore conditions.
