Thinking of turning my 18v Milwaukee drill into an auger. I have a 6" hand auger and would need to buy the Clam handle adaptor. Anyone one use one of these? What are your thoughts on these? Thanks

I use my m18 fuel hammer drill(brushless, 4amp hour battery) using the 10$ strike master adapter bit and a 6" lazer. Only time I've killed both batteries was drilling 50+ holes through 2 feet of lake Erie ice

I have an Ice Master adaptor on an older Dewalt 18 volt drill. Use either 8 inch eskimo or 6 inch strike master augers.

No secondary handle on it, just hold it against my body to keep it from torquing. Also keep the RPM's low when cutting.

IMO even easier than using the clam adapter is to just buy a nilsmaster convertible auger that can also be used as a hand auger and is ready to be used in any drill.  It has a less aggressive bite than the standard nils bits and works great without having to take the chuck off the drill.  I ran that most of the season last year and was very happy with it.
