Any of you guys ever head out to Ohio for an archery hunt? I am planning on going this fall to hunt public land (AEP Land in south eastern part of the state). If anyone has ever been out that way I would appreciate any intel.

Thanks,

Chad

I have been going for 8years and had good luck mid day is hot if you are there in November ! Just get off the beaten path I have had better luck in thick areas because of other hunters are all over the food plots but if you find your spot it can be great. I have killed a150 and had chances at 110-125s every year just depends what you want! I have seen some Giants!!!!!!!

Archery is the time to go in Ohio we went out 4 days before gun season to scout and saw some giants. After the first day of gun you'd think there wasn't a deer in the state. We hunted southeast as well. Ask around to landowners out there since it's a "trophy state" now a lot of people are afraid to ask farmers for permission and everyone we asked let us hunt.

Used to stay at lake hope state park, lots of federal land around there. The first time we stayed there, monster bucks were hanging at 3 cabins, I saw bucks bigger than any in 30 yrs hunting pa, all in a week.
