New invasive plant in Cayuga

A water chestnut- haven't heard much about this one.  Doesn't sound good, doesn't sound like the end of the world either.  But keep an eye out maybe.

They are all through Seneca , Oneida, and oswego river systems . Check for vegetation on your trailer, the nuts can get caught in it or in hard to see places.

had the unfortunate experience of them on the launch in the hudson hurts like hell when you step on them probably could puncture a tire on a bad day.

Are these the same water chestnuts they stick in the those frozen vegetable bags?  I hate those things.  They look like potatoes but their texture is terrible.

Slow response, sorry- they are related but apparently these ones are not edible.  Getting a tasty invasive would make a nice change!
