Twas The week before buck Season

 

Twas the week before buck season and all through the woods not a creature was stirring not even a hunter.

The stands are all hung in key spots with care, in hopes that big buck would wait a week to pass here.

Had a young 6 galloping after 3 does this am. Drooling like a little sissy. We had frost this am in Canada

I`ve yet to see a scrape or rub in the finger lakes, and I`ve been out.  Did my part for DEC and tagged a doe Thurs.

Out for my first sit of the year on some public land in Syracuse. Going to the Super Dirt Week race tomorrow so I figured I could find something to do to waste some time. Not expecting to see much but I found a decent funnel along that fence and it's just nice to finally be in the woods. u

After further review,he's probably a 2-1/2 year old with good Levi's ? Only looks to be a 14" spread? Would still be tough for me to pass as my best buck with a bow is a 8 with a 15" spread,will be a great one next year 140is? If he makes it?tougher hunting where I live every body shoots everything?but now that I have land in Steuben County and building a camp there with lots of bigger bucks hope to get my best bow buck there!
