My crew and I are almost certain we are going to fish this next year. We will be first timers coming from Dunkirk.

I heard at one time there was a rookie division to help promote getting more people involved. Kind of a side pot for first timers in the event.

Also is there any Calcuttas in the event.

Yes, yes, and yes. Annually the Saturday of mothers day weekend. Lots of buzz as the first U.S. event of the Spring.

Once everyone that fished it last year get an invite we fill the open slots with new entries. We didn't have a full field last year, so If you want one we can get one out to you.

All new teams to the event are put into the rookie class. There cant be more than 1 person who has previously fished a WHI on board. There is typically less than 10 teams. This year, however, we're seeing a few new teams so only time will tell.
