yeah we were running gps collars. I think the biggest problem was we had too many guys in the woods moving around and bumping them off the circle. but fort drum has plenty of space to hunt. all you need to do is register yourself and your guns.

How do you guys cook hares?  I tried one once and fed the rest to my dog.  Cottontails are delicious.

I will take running hare or tails over any other hunting. Well maybe the hot week of deer and opener of waterfowl, early and late. I run tails and shoes. I think the tails are down this year(figures new pup). Will have to put miles on to get the shoes this winter oh well.

Make sure when you go to register guns you have two vehicles. they'll make you leave the guns outside the facility in the second vehicle until they're registered (you'll need make model and serial #). Permits are good for a year and once your gun is registered that's good forever.

 

if I remember right, when you stop at the entry gate you also have to get an entry slip of some kind that you put on your vehicle dash while you're hunting

I hunt hare with a fox hound

Just wondering as compered to Beagles, how is the trainablity of the Fox hound? After hunting over Beagles most of my life I find them to quite hard headed on more than one occation.

blue tick basset hound sounds great also,if I can ever fiend one even better,best sound u ever hear
