I have a Sub-Troll 900 and want to add a "Black box" form Cabelas because my down riggers have the stray grounding thing happening..... What do you think? Any problems???? Thanks!

you won't need the black box on the subtroll probe rigger. The coated cable is insulated and shouldn't be putting out ANY charge, positive or negative, it'll definitely help on the other riggers though.

Are you running a kicker? Cause if ya are... the kicker needs ta be grounded to the main engine's ground otherwise yer sacraficial zink anode on the kicker will cause a ground feed to it. Ya might notice the anode wearing away. also try cleanin the zincs if they are coroded with a white crust on them. just in case ya wanna try figurein out the voltage leaks ;)

did ya put a voltmeter on the cables (positive on the cable with ball down 10ft or more....negative on battery ground) when yer in the water? A meter that can read tenths or hudredths of dc will work for a readin.... Long as its not showin negative voltage and its not over .3 positve it shouldn't be bad....water conditions will affect the readin different every day....water temp and chemical composition of the water affects it...Check yer readins at the main engine ground to the cables too....could have some leakage from the engine electronics....also use Rays stainless steel brush on the anode...be sure it's got good contact with motor and the zinc is got some shine.
