Chaumont Bay conditions

I was wondering if you guys wanted to keep a report on ice in the Chaumont Bay area. I know it is a little early but if there is someone that lives in the area and would like to keep us guys that live further away updated it would be great.

Ice has formed in some of the more sheltered bays ... Finally! But it is very thin. 1.75-2". We will surely lose it tomorrow and over the weekend Im afraid:(

Yeah I was thinking this rain isn't going to help much. I'm hoping the weather guy is wrong and ends up being sleet or frozen rain.

Any word guys? I looked at the hardware store and the bay is locked up but no fishable ice as of the 7th.

Better hope the wind don't pick up any more than it is or it will be gone again . Hopefully with this weeks cold weather it will stay tight,  Stay safe,

Unfortunately the wind has been a blowing but if it comes out of the south or anywhere out of the east we might be good if she is locked up.

Check Hardware site ..... The bay is locking up. Cold weather this week should do it.

Good deal they should have good ice for the derby this weekend and next. I won't be making it up there until next weekend hopefully, maybe I will hold off until the pro/am is done. I don't like to be crowded.

It was beautiful weekend on chaumont.... Had sled out. Plenty of ice. Touch windy but it always is on the lake!

Cant really catch a break this winter. Had a decent freeze but not a really good one. Few warm days and some rain could make things dicy...... Hate this weather!

Texted with Greg from hardware store today. I asked him about fishing The bay Thursday after warm temps, rain, and wind predicted Wednesday. He recommended foot travel only. Exercise caution.

Yeah I am thinking after today it is pretty much toast unless we get some really cold temps.
