It was fairly consistent 7". The snow covered areas had 5". A lot of cracks opened up while we were out there. Cool to hear and feel the ice move like that. With this warmup, I could see some of those cracks opening up a lot. Just be careful.

Sure looks like it was worth the trip up there Slammin. Honeoye is kinda slow as usual

I fished there noon to 5:30 with with no action whatsoever. King Slammin is right about the cracks in the ice. There are also plenty spots of break up and refroze ice out there.  I had to step over an 8-10" gap of open water today. I saw one sled out there today closer to shore; but you wouldn't catch me out there on one. With the warm weather tomorrow it might be hairy out there with more cracking and shifting. If it wasn't going to be so warm Tuesday I would have stayed fished again. Good luck, be safe!

Nice fish. I am torn between there and Honeoye. Hate being restricted to walkin though. I wish the weather would put a few more inches on the ice for my sled.

Yeah I like having the wheeler out there too. But I'll walk a couple miles as long as the drag isn't too bad. I'll have the boy with me this time hauling the gear out while I sip my coffee. Lol

Made the 2 mile walk from the south launch out to shakelton Sholes more than once, but only if the walking is good.... Lewis is nice because there are good spots away from the drop that aren't 2 miles away.
