Wow - superb!!

I'm actually in the process of rocking, taping and sanding my man cave walls and after 37 tries at a perfectly smooth seam with my spackle knife, there's always still just that tiny bit of imperfection in the joint compound.

When I'm frustrated with my next butt joint, I'm just going to say **** it and do what this guy does. So cool

I do a pretty good country road with  potholes and ruts !!

I'm with you Dave! I usually get a nice pattern of birds flying over..

guys with chainsaws or putty knives are just amazing!

The only guy in my area doing this type of stuff uses brown and finish plaster over styrofoam and fiberglass mesh that is screwed on with plastic washers. This is done on exteriors too. They use red hot electric shaping tools to carve the rough design out of foam.

I kind of question the solid plaster to as the weight would be a issue I imagine.    I have very little artistic ability so the only way I would ever get a wall like this is to hire the guy and all these issue would be his problem. LOL.
