I have recently acquired another boat to use in the winter for perch fishing.  The floor is going to need to be replaced (not soft but starting) this summer & I have been leaning towards the vinyl flooring over carpet & my question is how will it be in the winter snow/ice.  Will the floor still be anti skid or will it be slick.  There has been a few times the carpet get a little froze at times.  Anybody have any experience with the vinyl & winter fishing.  Thanks & tight lines

Deebsey,

We just purchased a new pontoon last year for perch fishing and love the vinyl floor but it is a little slippery with the snow and ice. Had carpet on the one before and did not have an issue with the snow.

For us the ease of cleaning and the appearance of the vinyl out weighs the snow and ice issue but we do pull the boat out of the bay usually before much snow. One of the other guys put in snaps and bought a rubber floor mat that he could take in and out to help with the issue.
